A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial of Effectiveness of a Psychoeducational Intervention on the Management of Musculoskeletal Chronic Noncancer Pain

The prevalence of musculoskeletal chronic noncancer pain (mCNCP) is continually growing. The control of symptoms is sometimes refractory to pharmacological treatment or other interventions. The lack of adequate pain management entails a high consumption of health resources with a great economic effect (Due ñas et al., 2015; Gauthier et al., 2019). In the Global Burden of Disease Study, the authors concluded that pain and associated health problems were the leading cause of disability worldwide (James et al., 2018).
