Hematologic analysis of hospitalized patients and outpatients infected with SARS-CoV-2 and possible use as a prognostic biomarker

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the cause of the pandemic that started at the end of 2019 and has caused a disease called coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which has resulted in more than 500 million cases and approximately 6 million deaths worldwide. In Mexico, more than 5 million people have been infected, and more than 300,000 people have died, which represents a lethality rate of 7% [1,2].
