Endoluminal vacuum-assisted closure therapy for upper gastrointestinal leak, perforation, and fistula: a case series and literature review

Conclusion: E-VAC devices can effectively help in the removal of the exudate and necrotic tissue around the fistula, promote the proliferation of granulation tissue, and support closure of the fistula. However, further improvements to the device are needed to improve patient comfort and operational safety.
