Cover Caption

An Early Cretaceous scene from the Dawangzhangzi plant assemblage in Northwestern China, showing arthropod and pathogen herbivory on a gymnosperm-dominated flora immediately before the global shift toward angiosperm-dominance. This scene displays a variety of external foliage feeding, oviposition, piercing and sucking, mining, galling, borings, and pathogens among plants and their arthropod and pathogen herbivores. The plant assemblage, part of the Yixian Flora, also exhibits evidence for pollination, mimicry, and parasitoidism, implying well-integrated trophic networks for this 125 million-year-old ecosystem (see pages 1483-1520). The cover image is constructed by all authors and drew by Ms. Xiaoran Zuo.
