Cornell vs. NCSU vs. KSU vs. Illinois vs. Wisconsin (IS): Zoological/Wildlife Medicine Focus
First of all, I want to acknowledge how blessed I am to have these options to choose from. With that being said, I want to make my decision sooner rather than later so that I can open up seats at the schools I do not choose to attend. My primary career interest is zoological/wildlife medicine with a One Health focus. I am not interested in exotic pet animal medicine but rather working in zoological parks, at wildlife rehabilitation centers, or with free-ranging wildlife. I applied to these... Zoological/Wildlife Veterinary Advice
Hello! I was wondering if any zoological/wildlife veterinary students or veterinarians would be willing to share about their career path (where they went to school and why they chose that institution, what opportunities they have taken part in both through and outside of their school, and what advice they would give to someone extremely interested in the field). Thank you SO much! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Vet School Recommendations?
Hello! So this cycle I only have 1 school left to get back to me, but I am not feeling great about the outcome. If I do have to apply again, I would love some recs on different schools to apply to! I only applied to 4 (UF, tOSU, Cornell, and CSU) because of the cost, but I realized I should probably expand my options a bit more. I love a hands on approach to learning, and I would love to find somewhere that does offer exotics/zoological rotations. I'm already looking into it but I'd... Feedback/advice on my stats thus far
Hi there! I am a PA resident and incoming sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. I was just wondering if I could get any feedback/advice on what I have completed so far in my journey towards veterinary school. I have always had very big dreams of becoming a zoological/conservation vet ever since I was little, and yes I am aware of the competitiveness, low pay, and job market for zoo vets but that does not steer me away from my passion. I do have some schools in mind but... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non- Trad Foreign BS to Accelerated BSN to MD
A little tricky situation here: I am a 43-year-old male, single, no children, permanent resident, and I am applying for my US naturalization this year. I hold a bachelor's (4-year degree) in science with a double major in zoology and chemistry from a university in my country of birth in north Africa. I worked in the medical sales industry for over 10 years between 2003 and 2014 with multinational corporations, like JNJ and 3M, in both Egypt and Dubai. I am used to being in the operation... Advice needed!
Hi guys! I could really use some advice because while my friends and SO are great sounding boards, I also want to hear what the pre-vet community has to say since we're going through similar application processes. So let me start by saying that as of right now, I would love to become a zoological vet (I know that there are only so many positions open) or else participate in veterinary research. My goal to become a zoological vet comes from working in a museum with lots of animals. I cared... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UGA VS NC State wildlife/exotics/zoo
Any opinions on UGA vs NC state for zoo and wildlife experience? They are both roughly the same price. NC state seems to have more diversity and more didactic learning in zoological medicine with a simulation lab. However uga has a wildlife treatment crew and SCWDS for wildlife experience with very little didactic material on wildlife/zoo. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Would a Master of Arts in Teaching (Biology) help me get into medical school?
Hello everyone, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a 3.0 GPA. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Education Biology Track). In this graduate degree I have to complete Algebra and Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus II, Principles of Genetics, Botany, Ecology, Zoology, Microbiology and Immunology, a Biology Seminar, General Chemistry I and II, and College Physics I only. All of these classes are 100 to 200 level undergraduate prep classes in... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Looking to reinvent, but not sure where to start? I have taken nearly every science class in the book.
Hello! I'm hoping my situation isn't super unheard of because I'm really needing some insight. I am a MD/DO hopeful looking to reinvent with a DIY postbacc. However, I have a million undergrad credits and have taken Zoology, Ecology, both sections of Human Anatomy and Physiology, Histology, Genetics, Vertebrate Physiology, Evolution, Biostatistics, Cell Biology, Micro, etc. just to name a few. I went into my most recent undergrad degrees with over 120 credits as a transfer student and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Bio II?
At my undergrad they only had an introductory bio course and not a bio1/bio2 sequence. I've taken a lot of upper level bio classes, but would it be worthwhile to take bio II at a community college? I've also seen some schools count zoology as a second bio course, so would it be better for me to take zoology (at a 4-year)? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Davis or Tufts or ...? for wildlife
I'm currently applying to Tufts, UC Davis, Minnesota, Oregon, Western, and Wisconsin. I was hoping that anyone (alumni or current students) could let me know their personal thoughts on the wildlife/zoological/exotics programs? I've heard that Wisconsin and UC Davis have great wildlife programs, but I'm struggling to find information on their websites. Currently Tufts is my #1 for wildlife and conservation medicine. Also I was hoping anyone who went to these schools could also share what... Davis or Tufts or ...? for wildlife (Source: Student Doctor Network)
