Thinking about med school, need advice.
Hello. I am seriously considering med school but I am looking for advice and others in a similar situation. I currently work at NASA, I have an aerospace engineering degree from the University of Texas. My GPA was not the best, 3.1. The day before I was to go to college in 2009 I found out that I had trigeminal schwannoma. I withdrew from college, had two surgeries to remove the tumor, and returned to college the next semester. The tumor left me with severe strabismus, asymetrical facial... Thinking about med school, need advice. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

how does one succeed in undergrad?!?
I just transferred to The University of Texas at Austin this spring semester. Previously, I attended a junior college in Dallas. In my 2.5 years there, I was a full time student along with playing varsity college baseball and I made all A's--except for 2 classes, B's. I like to consider myself a very good student and many respectable colleagues of mine have told me some of the most complementary things about my intelligence. These people are physicians and prestiged Nurse Practitioners whom... how does one succeed in undergrad?!? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Do I have a chance in Texas?
I have one semester left at The University of Texas at Austin (Biology major) until I apply to med schools in TX. I am a first generation college student from a low-income family who lives in south TX. I started off my first semester not even knowing basic chemistry due to my high school's lack of decent teachers... I've struggled a lot to adapt to college not only academically, but mentally. Ive also struggled with panic-attack disorder for years which has caused me trips to the ER and... Do I have a chance in Texas? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PLEASE HELP! Am I shooting myself in the foot majoring in Chemistry?
Hey there SDN, Due to its rigor and the "GPA killer factor", is it a bad idea to major in Chemistry for pre-med? I am 100% set on my goal of going to Med School and I want nothing else than to be a Doc. I was just accepted to the University of Texas at Ausin to study Psychology and pre-med (I applied a long time ago) and I'm thinking I would truly enjoy a chemistry major much more. HOWEVER, I know what everyone says. It's a GPA killer, it's very time consuming and it doesn't give you enough... PLEASE HELP! Am I shooting myself in the foot majoring in Chemistry?
