A novel approach to attribute responsible physicians using inpatient claims
CONCLUSIONS: We provide a robust method to attribute physicians to patients, which is a necessary tool to understand physician-level variation in quality of care within the inpatient acute care setting. Magnet Hospitals and 30-Day Readmission and Mortality Rates for Medicare Beneficiaries
Conclusions: Magnet hospitals performed better on the Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Mortality Program than the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program. The results of this study suggest the need for The Magnet Recognition Program to examine the role of nurses in postdischarge activities as a component of its evaluation criteria.
