Association of alcohol consumption with prognosis of ischemic stroke by subtype in different follow-up periods: a hospital-based study in China.
CONCLUSIONS: Previous alcohol consumption decreased the risk of death at 3 months after stroke among patients with atherothrombotic stroke according to the TOAST classification. Furthermore, for patients with small artery disease (according to TOAST classification), alcohol consumption significantly decreased the risk of recurrence and dependency at 12 months after stroke. This study highlights an urgent need to quantify the association of alcohol consumption with outcomes after stroke in China to improve stroke prognosis.

Usefulness of cardiometabolic index for the estimation of ischemic stroke risk among general population in rural China.
CONCLUSION: The strong and independent association of CMI with ischemic stroke in females, in comparison with the much lesser degree in males, provides further insight to better stratify by sex in investigations of ischemic stroke and solidly corroborates the potential role of ischemic stroke prevention targeted at CMI.

A nonlinear association between resting heart rate and ischemic stroke among community elderly hypertensive patients.
Conclusions: In Chinese elderly hypertensive patients, elevated resting heart rate was an independent predictor of ischemic stroke, and the optimal resting heart rate was around 70bpm.

Renal dysfunction is associated with lower odds of home discharge for patients with stroke

The association between serum uric acid levels and ischemic stroke in essential hypertension patients.
Conclusions: SUA was an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke, and also have a good predictive value ischemic stroke among hypertensive patients in Chinese community.

Association between hypertension and stroke in US adults in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) 2007 to 2018
CONCLUSION: Our results show that there is a significant positive correlation between BP and stroke. Discontinuation of oral anticoagulation preceding acute ischemic stroke - prevalence and outcomes: Comprehensive chart review.
CONCLUSION: About 2.6% or 1 in every 38 of all ischemic stokes occurred after OAC discontinuation. Strokes occurring after OAC discontinuation also have higher mortality and morbidity. Our data suggest that any planned discontinuation of OAC, however brief, should be carefully considered.
