EE1 Implementation of Guideline-Recommended Strategies for Stroke Prevention in U.S. Adults with Type 2 Diabetes: A Cost-Effectiveness Analysis
Substantial opportunity exists to enhance primary prevention of stroke in type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients. We aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of improved implementation of seven current guideline-recommended strategies for primary stroke prevention in U.S. adults with T2D.

CO142 Evaluating the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Acute Ischemic Stroke Outcomes in the Stroke Belt
This study sought to compare specific key outcomes related to ischemic stroke that occurred before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. We assessed mortality rates, morbidity rates, and the administration of thrombolytics in patients with ischemic stroke admitted to emergency departments (ED) in the Stroke Belt, a region of the United States with historically worse stroke outcomes.

CO97 Risk Factors, Presentation and Outcome in Acute Ischemic Stroke According to Social Position Indicators in Patients Hospitalized in a Referral Center in Bogot á 2011-2019
As stroke treatment is time-dependent, it challenges the social and demographic context of patients for timely consultation and effective access to reperfusion therapies. The aim of this study was to relate indicators of social position to cardiovascular risk factors, time of arrival, access to reperfusion therapy and mortality in the setting of acute ischemic stroke.

CO8 Design and Rationale of a Global Prospective Observational Study of Real-World Management of Patients with Atrial Fibrillation at High Risk of Stroke- Gardenia
Anticoagulants reduce the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). However, due to various causes, including concerns for bleeding, there is treatment variability, including undertreatment or non-treatment, especially in patients with high bleeding risk. The aim of the GARDENIA registry is threefold, 1) to understand the real-world usage of oral anticoagulants (OAC) in patients with AF and elevated risk of bleeding, 2) to evaluate the factors associated with treatment or non-treatment with OACs and adherence to guideline recommended doses of OACs and 3) to determine the incidence of clinical outcomes in th...

CO2 Evaluation of Clinical Decision Support to Improve Care for Patients with Atrial Fibrillation at Increased Stroke Risk: 2-Year Results
Effective stroke prevention with oral anticoagulation is the cornerstone of management in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). However, previous literature has shown that guideline-concordant anticoagulation in patients with high stroke risk is often below 70% in the U.S. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of clinical decision support (CDS) tools on anticoagulation rates.

P35 Economic Benefit of Stroke Technology-Assisted Rehabilitation (STAR): A Scoping Review
High-intensity rehabilitation is an evidence-based effective treatment for reducing disability and improving the quality of life in stroke survivors with sensorimotor impairments. Increasing healthcare costs, rising demand for rehabilitative treatment, and a shortage of healthcare professionals have motivated the development of new technologies to support high-intensity stroke rehabilitation more effectively. However, relatively little data is available regarding the economic benefits of these new approaches, including virtual reality, exoskeletons, robots, and wearable sensors.

EE66 Estimating the Costs of Familial Hypercholesterolemia Management Using Primary Claims Data
Familial hypercholesterolemia is a rare genetic condition increasing an individual ’s risk of cardiovascular disease. Early diagnosis and access to lipid-lowering treatment are essential to prevent stroke, heart attack, and cardiac death. Limited understanding of familial hypercholesterolemia costs to payers prevents the economic assessment of optimal screening and treatment str ategies. We sought to measure the direct medical costs of diagnostic lipid panel testing and pharmacotherapy for familial hypercholesterolemia from real-world data.
