Increased suicide risk among patients oophorectomized following benign conditions and its association with comorbidities.
Conclusion: A significant increase in suicide rate among oophorectomized women aged 20-49 years was found. The decision to perform oophorectomy should be made cautiously, especially in patients with hypertension, COPD, chronic liver disease and cirrhosis or anxiety disorder. Patients should be followed for at least 6 years postoperatively since the suicide rate is significantly higher in this period. PMID: 31462149 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndrome in Fallopian Tube Cancer.
We report on a rare case of paraneoplastic syndrome (PS) that was discovered on completion of diagnostic work-up to be an undifferentiated fallopian tube carcinoma. A 49-year-old Caucasian woman was admitted to neurology with vertigo, gait ataxia and dysarthria, transient ischaemic attack (TIA) and stroke were quickly excluded. ABSTRACT: Surgery-related pain is common and is difficult to manage during the postoperative period. In some studies, more than 30% of patients who underwent either vaginal surgery or abdominal surgery reported inadequate pain control at postoperative days 3 and 7.
