Integrated Telehealth Infrastructure for Ambulatory Stroke Pathway Tyrol
CONCLUSION: To this point, a comprehensive infrastructure for the Ambulatory Tyrolean Stroke Pathway has been established. Results from outcome analyses and comparative studies could help to further improve usability and to expand the area of application for other indications.PMID:37172187 | DOI:10.3233/SHTI230046

Adaptable Healing Patient Room for Stroke Patients. A Staff Evaluation.
Conclusions: The hospital staff evaluation in the laboratory setting gave us an indication of the likely impact of the Adaptive Healing Environment Patient Room on the healing progress of patients. Furthermore, this laboratory evaluation of the concepts was an important step that enabled to improve the shortcomings of the current concept before starting clinical trials. In addition, we generated feedback from different departments from different institutions, which suggest that they all see similar added values for the patient room. Agreement between stroke volume measured by oesophageal Doppler and uncalibrated pulse contour analysis during fluid loads in severe aortic stenosis
Abstract The purpose of this analysis was to study agreement and trending of stroke volume measured by oesophageal Doppler and 3rd generation Vigileo during fluid loads in patients with severe aortic stenosis. Observational study in 32 patients (30 analyzed) scheduled for aortic valve replacement due to severe aortic stenosis. After induction of anesthesia and before start of surgery, hemodynamic registrations for 1 min were obtained before and after a fluid load. Agreement between stroke volume measured by oesophageal Doppler (SVOD) and Vigileo (SVVig) was evaluated in Bland–Altman plot and trending in four-qu...

Non-invasive measurements of pulse pressure variation and stroke volume variation in anesthetized patients using the Nexfin blood pressure monitor
In this study we investigated whether Nexfin adequately reflects alterations in these hemodynamic parameters during a provoked fluid shift in anesthetized and mechanically ventilated patients. The study included 54 patients undergoing non-thoracic surgery with positive pressure mechanical ventilation. The provoked fluid shift comprised 15° Trendelenburg positioning, and fluid responsiveness was defined as a concomitant increase in stroke volume (SV) >10 %. Nexfin blood pressure measurements were performed during supine steady state, Trendelenburg and supine repositioning. Hemodynamic parameters included arterial blood...

Developing movement therapy application with Microsoft Kinect control for supporting stroke rehabilitation.
Authors: Mintal FA, Szucs V, Sik-Lanyi C Abstract The topic of this article and work was to create an application for movement therapy, which can help the rehabilitation of stroke patients. The application makes it possible to make unique exercises for different patients, adapting to the special personal needs. The developed real time gesture analyzing algorithm works in the background of the application, which has not yet spread on the field of medical devices. I deal with one part of this wide field in my dissertation, with the rehabilitation gesture analyzing. The data received from the Kinect sensor is processe...

Effect of Watermarking on Diagnostic Preservation of Atherosclerotic Ultrasound Video in Stroke Telemedicine
Abstract Embedding of diagnostic and health care information requires secure encryption and watermarking. This research paper presents a comprehensive study for the behavior of some well established watermarking algorithms in frequency domain for the preservation of stroke-based diagnostic parameters. Two different sets of watermarking algorithms namely: two correlation-based (binary logo hiding) and two singular value decomposition (SVD)-based (gray logo hiding) watermarking algorithms are used for embedding ownership logo. The diagnostic parameters in atherosclerotic plaque ultrasound video are namely: (a) bulb...
