Concomitant severe carotid and coronary artery diseases: a separate management or concomitant approach
Conclusion: The results from this study favors staged CEA with CABG with lower incidence of postoperative stroke, operative, and 30 ‐day mortality. A larger study, ideally a randomized controlled trial, is required to address the superiority of each technique.

Neurological outcomes after on ‐pump vs off‐pump CABG in patients with cerebrovascular disease
ConclusionsIn patients with a previous TIA or stroke, off ‐pump CABG is associated with a reduced risk of stroke, delirium, and postoperative adverse neurological events, compared to on‐pump CABG. Patients with high neurological risk can potentially benefit from off‐pump CABG, due to an overall reduction of postoperative neurological complications.

Predicting postoperative atrial fibrillation after myocardial revascularization without cardiopulmonary bypass: A retrospective cohort study
ConclusionOff ‐pump coronary artery bypass grafting proved a safe and effective procedure, with low postoperative atrial fibrillation occurrence, for myocardial revascularization. Chronic renal insufficiency and the use of venous‐origin graft solely proved to be independent predictor factors for PAOF.

Bilateral versus single internal thoracic artery for coronary artery bypass grafting with end ‐stage renal disease: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
ConclusionsBITA grafting is safe in patients with ESRD although there was no survival benefit at 3.7 years. Additional studies with longer follow ‐up are required to determine the potential late benefits of BITA grafting in patients with ESRD.

The role of SYNTAX score in decision ‐making for preoperative carotid artery screening in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery
ConclusionThis study suggests that the presence of left main coronary artery disease or SXscore greater than or equal to 27 should require preoperative carotid screening in patients undergoing CABG, regardless of the presence of risk factors.

Mid ‐term outcomes of simultaneous coronary artery bypass graft surgery and septal myectomy in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy: A case‐controlled study
ConclusionsThe cardiovascular death and cardiovascular events are significantly increased in patients with HOCM and CAD who underwent CABG at the time of septal myectomy.
