Short-Term Exposure to Fine Particulate Matter and Risk of Ischemic Stroke Brief Report
Conclusions—These findings suggest that short-term exposure to PM2.5 within 1 day before onset is associated with the subsequent occurrence of ischemic stroke.

Motivation, expectations, and usability of a driven gait orthosis in stroke patients and their therapists.
CONCLUSIONS: Stroke user group patients seem quite motivated to train with the DGO and both patients and therapists reasonably believe that this training could improve gait functioning. Therapists are moderately satisfied with the usability of the DGO, but there is room for improvement with respect to usefulness and ease of use.

Changes in Depressive Symptoms and Subsequent Risk of Stroke in the Cardiovascular Health Study Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Persistently high symptoms of depression predicted elevated hazard of stroke. Participants with improved depressive symptoms had no elevation in stroke risk. Such findings suggest that strategies to reduce depressive symptoms may ameliorate stroke risk.

Gender differences in physical activity and health-related behaviors among stroke survivors: data from the 5th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.
CONCLUSION: In order to reduce noted gender disparities in physical activity following stroke, more focused effort to increase physical activity in women, especially with lower socioeconomic status, has to be considered.

Post-stroke hemiparesis: Does chronicity, etiology, and lesion side are associated with gait pattern?
CONCLUSION: In order to recruit a more homogeneous sample, more accurate results were obtained and an appropriate rehabilitation program was offered, researchers and clinicians should consider that gait pattern might be associated with time since stroke, affected cerebral hemisphere and lesion etiology.

Feasibility and Diagnostic Value of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging After Acute Ischemic Stroke of Undetermined Origin Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Our study demonstrated that cvMRI was feasible in the vast majority of included patients with acute ischemic stroke. The stroke caregiving trajectory in relation to caregiver depressive symptoms, burden, and intervention outcomes.
CONCLUSIONS: This study contributes to the understanding of the relationship between length of caregiving and depression, burden, and intervention outcomes. Clinicians should recognize that the stroke caregiving trajectory can be nonlinear. Routine and repeated clinical assessment of caregiver well-being is needed, along with implementation of interventions when necessary, regardless of how much time has passed since the stroke.

Risk of Stroke With Various Types of Menopausal Hormone Therapies Brief Report
Conclusions—In a national setting, we found an increased risk of stroke, based on ischemic stroke, with oral hormone therapies that was comparable to findings from randomized studies. We found no risk of stroke with transdermal application and a reduced risk with vaginal estrogen.

Inequities in access to inpatient rehabilitation after stroke: an international scoping review.
Conclusion Recommendations regarding which patients with moderate and severe strokes should access ongoing rehabilitation are inconsistent. Clinical practice guidelines from different countries regarding post-stroke rehabilitation do not always reflect the evidence regarding the likely benefits to people with stroke. Inequity in access to rehabilitation after stroke is an international issue.

Whole Grain Consumption and Risk of Ischemic Stroke Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Although overall consumption of whole grains was not associated with lower risk of ischemic stroke, greater consumption of whole grain cold breakfast cereal and bran was significantly associated with a lower risk of ischemic stroke. More studies are needed to replicate these associations between individual whole grain foods and risk of ischemic stroke among other populations.
