Occupational therapists' experiences of using a new internet-based intervention - a focus group study
CONCLUSION: These results indicate how the use of new internet-based interventions such as SEE can influence and support renewal of occupational therapy that extends beyond the particular intervention. Continued research is needed to explore more aspects of SEE feasibility.PMID:37708913 | DOI:10.1080/11038128.2023.2247029

Association Between Optimism and Incident Stroke Among Stroke Survivors: Findings From the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing
CONCLUSIONS: Higher trait optimism was associated with reduced stroke risk. This association was partially mediated by physical activity albeit the effect was small, and caution warranted inferring causality. The interplay of personality, behavior, and clinical risk factors in stroke incidence and survivorship needs further investigation.PMID:37706520 | DOI:10.1093/abm/kaad051

Analysis of Prognostic Risk Factors of Sepsis Patients With Myocardial Injury: Six-month Survival Outcome
CONCLUSION: In summary, risk factors for poor prognosis in septic patients with myocardial injury included age>64 years, high APACHE II, elevated cTnI, elevated NT-proBNP, elevated CK, elevated CRP, and elevated PCT.PMID:37708545

Bibliometric analysis of the worldwide scientific production on COVID-19 infection and cerebrovascular disease
CONCLUSION: It was observed that the United States was the country with the highest scientific production on COVID-19 and cerebrovascular disease in the year 2020 in the different health areas; however, more research is still needed worldwide for a better analysis of the bibliometric indicators on the subject.PMID:37706386 | PMC:PMC10284493 | DOI:10.4103/aca.aca_70_22

Aggressive LDL-C Lowering and the Brain: Impact on Risk for Dementia and Hemorrhagic Stroke: A Scientific Statement From the American Heart Association
The objective of this scientific statement is to evaluate contemporary evidence that either supports or refutes the conclusion that aggressive low-density lipoprotein cholesterol lowering or lipid lowering exerts toxic effects on the brain, leading to cognitive impairment or dementia or hemorrhagic stroke. The writing group used literature reviews, references to published clinical and epidemiology studies, clinical and public health guidelines, authoritative statements, and expert opinion to summarize existing evidence and to identify gaps in current knowledge. Although some retrospective, case control, and prospective lon...
