Inpatient rehabilitation of working-age adults with ischemic stroke: comparing men and women clinical and functional characteristics at admission and predicting functionality
CONCLUSIONS: No functional differences between men and women in any independence measure were found. Sex was a significant predictor but leaving half of the variance unexplained.PMID:35084731 | DOI:10.33588/rn.7403.2021297

Associated factors with functional prognosis of patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: Age, T2D and failed recanalization increase risk for unfavorable outcome at 90 days in patients with AIS treated with MT. Procedure time duration should be considered as a possible determinant factor in functional outcome.PMID:35042605 | DOI:10.1016/j.medcli.2021.11.010

Efforts should be made to improve quality of DM2 care and to reduce the disparities among GPs.Key messagesThere is great variability in the quality of health care for patients with type II diabetes specially in the proportion of diabetics with HbA1c higher or equal to 9% that differs greatly among GPs.Diabetic type 2 patients cared for by general practitioners in the worst quality group have a 15%....

CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of stroke in COVID-19 patients presenting to EDs was lower than in the non-COVID-19 reference sample. COVID-19 patients with stroke had greater need for hospitalization and ICU admission than those without stroke, and longer hospitalization and greater in-hospital mortality than non-COVID-19 patients with stroke.PMID:34490961 | DOI:10.1111/acem.14389
