Conclusions— Age-adjusted stroke prevalence in urban Sri Lanka lies between high-income and low-/middle-income countries. The prevalence of stroke and its risk factors were higher among men.

Prevalence and predictors of new onset depression in the acute phase of stroke
CONCLUSION: More than one fourth of the patients suffered from PSD in the acute phase of stroke. Female gender, longer history of hypertension, physical dependence and temporal lobe strokes were predictive of PSD.PMID:33848806 | DOI:10.1016/j.ajp.2021.102636

Ischemic Stroke Subtypes: Socio-demographic Factors, Risk Factors, and Outcomes in Southern Sri Lanka
CONCLUSION: The comparative risk of different IS subtypes depends on different risk factors.
