ConclusionWith or without diabetes, no matter whether undergoing intravenous thrombolysis or mechanical thrombectomy, higher SHR significantly increased the occurrence of poor outcomes, mortality, neurological deficit, HT, and infectious complications. The recanalization rate was not statistically significant between the two groups. More attention must be paid in clinical practice to SH. Future investigation should focus on the diagnostic value of SHR and the early control of hyperglycemia. Serum neurofilament light chain levels are associated with early neurological deterioration in minor ischemic stroke
ConclusionEarly neurological deterioration is common in minor ischemic stroke and is associated with poor prognosis. The elevated sNfL level was associated with an increased risk of early neurological deterioration in patients with minor ischemic stroke. sNfL might be a promising biomarker candidate that can help to identify patients with minor ischemic stroke at high risk of neurological deterioration, for reaching individual therapeutic decisions in clinical practice.

Sex Differences in Long-Term Mortality and Functional Outcome After Rehabilitation in Patients With Severe Stroke
Conclusion: Among patients admitted to inpatient rehabilitation after severe stroke, women and men had comparable crude mortality rates at 3 years. After multivariable adjustment, however, women had lower mortality risk. No sex-differences in the risk of being transferred to acute care or dying within 90 days from admission to rehabilitation or in responsiveness to rehabilitation were observed.

The Characteristics of Patients With Possible Transient Ischemic Attack and Minor Stroke in the Hunter and Manning Valley Regions, Australia (the INSIST Study)
Conclusion: This study provides the first contemporary data on TIAMS or TIAMS-mimics in Australia. Community and health provider education is required to address the under-use of anticoagulation therapy in patients with known AF, possibly inappropriate use of antiplatelet therapy and possibly inappropriate discontinuation of antiplatelet or anticoagulation therapy.

New Insights Into Vertigo Attack Frequency as a Predictor of Ischemic Stroke
Conclusions: Our findings indicate that the clinical parameters, including arterial stenosis, DM, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings, differed between the low- and high-frequency groups. We also found that patients in the low-frequency group were more willing to seek medical intervention after the attacks of vertigo. These findings could be valuable for clinicians to focus on specific examination of the patients according to the frequency of vertigo attacks.

Risk Estimation of Infectious and Inflammatory Disorders in Hospitalized Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke Using Clinical-Lab Nomogram

Predicting Poststroke Pneumonia in Patients With Anterior Large Vessel Occlusion: A Prospective, Population-Based Stroke Registry Analysis
ConclusionNearly one in five stroke patients with LVO develops PSP during acute care. This risk of PSP is further increased if an EVT is performed. Identification of Risk Factors for Stroke in China: A Meta-Analysis of Prospective Cohort Studies
This study aimed to identify independent risk factors for first occurrence of stroke in Chinese individuals based on prospective cohort studies. Forty prospective cohort studies assessing 1,984,552 individuals were selected for the final meta-analysis. Limb heaviness as a sensorimotor disorder alters rehabilitation adherence after a stroke
