Echocardiographic pressure –strain loop‐derived stroke work of the right ventricle: validation against the gold standard
ConclusionsIntegrated echo measurement of pressure –strain loop-derived SW correlates with PV loop-based assessment of RV SW. Wasted work correlates with invasive measures of load-independent RV function. Given the methodological and anatomical challenges of RV work assessment, evolution of this approach by incorporating more elaborated echo analy sis data and an RV reference curve might improve its reliability to mirror invasively assessed RV SW.

Adrenomedullin peptides and precursor levels in relation to haemodynamics and prognosis after heart transplantation
ConclusionsElevated plasma levels of ADM may be a marker of pressure/volume overload in HF patients with PH, as well as long-term prognosis after HT. In line with previous studies, our findings additionally confirm that ADM may be a marker of venous congestion in HF. Further studies are encouraged to establish a deeper understanding of the properties of ADM and its relationship with HF and PH, in order to potentially facilitate clinical management of HF and associated PH.

Combination of SVI/S' and diagnostic scores for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
This study aimed to compare the three approaches in patients with suspected HFpEF. Patients referred to right heart catheterization for suspected HFpEF were classified into low-, intermediate- and high-likelihood groups according to H2 FPEF or HFA-PEFF scores. A diagnosis of HFpEF was confirmed by pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP) of ≥15 mm Hg according to the guidelines. In result, a total of 128 patients were included. Predictive Value of CHA2DS2-VASc Score in Patients with Contrast-Induced Nephropathy After Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for ST-Elevated Myocardial Infarction
CONCLUSION: Our current study showed that the CHA2DS2-VASc risk score has an effective discriminating power in determining the contrast-induced nephropathy development and a score ≥2 defines the group at risk in patients presenting with ST-elevation myocardial infarction and underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
