Cardioversion of Atrial Fibrillation with Acupuncture
Conclusions: Acupuncture appears to be solely responsible for the conversion of atrial fibrillation to sinus rhythm in this case, as no β-blockers, calcium channel blockers, or antiarrhythmic medicines were administered before the return to sinus rhythm. The antiarrhythmic effect noted may be from centrally mediated autonomic effects or additional mechanisms. Further study will help to define the role of acupuncture in the management of acute arrhythmias.PMID:34239665 | PMC:PMC8236297 | DOI:10.1089/acu.2021.0022

Systems Pharmacology-Based Approach to Comparatively Study the Independent and Synergistic Mechanisms of Danhong Injection and Naoxintong Capsule in Ischemic Stroke Treatment.
Authors: Zhu J, Yi X, Zhang Y, Pan Z, Zhong L, Huang P Abstract To provide evidence for the better clinical use of traditional Chinese medicine preparations (TCMPs), comparison of the pharmacological mechanisms between TCMPs with similar therapeutic effect is necessary. However, methodology for dealing with this issue is still scarce. Danhong injection (DHI) and Naoxintong capsule (NXT) are representative TCMPs for ischemic stroke (IS) treatment, which are also frequently used in combination. Here they were employed as research objects to demonstrate the feasibility of systems pharmacology approach in elucidation o...

Protection of Salvianolate Lyophilized Injection combined with Xueshuantong Injection (Lyophilized) against focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats through suppression of inflammatory response
ConclusionsThis study shows that SLI combined with XST (1X1S) can protect cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury due to its anti-inflammatory property, and may provide a potential promising new therapeutic strategy for acute ischemic stroke.

This diet advice could kill you
The American Heart Association says sodium in salt raises blood pressure. They say it increases the risk for heart disease and stroke.  But the latest science says otherwise… A British review of 34 clinical trials showed that cutting down on salt reduced blood pressure only slightly for people with hypertension.1  And a new study in The Lancet found that some low-salt diets could put you at GREATER risk of heart disease and death.2 Researchers analyzed data from 133,118 people. They wanted to see if there was a link between high sodium and heart attack, stroke and death The results were startling. People on “he...

“Quackery” that saves lives
I’m used to being a target of mainstream medicine. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve been called a “quack.”  Let me give you just one example… For decades I’ve been treating my patients with a proven therapy. The FDA approved it way back in 1953. I use it to help my patients detox from mercury, lead, cadmium and other heavy metals. In fact, more than 100,000 people get this therapy every year in the U.S. But mainstream doctors still laugh at the idea of this treatment and think it’s pure bunk. I’m talking about intravenous (IV) chelation. Even though I’ve...

How To Lower Risk of Heart Disease and Stroke
Italy's Emma Morano will be celebrating her 117th birthday at the end of this month. She's the oldest living person in the world. And when she was asked what her secret to longevity was, she didn't miss a beat. Her answer? She eats two or three eggs every day.  I'm not at all surprised by Emma's long, healthy life. People thrived on eggs for millions of years. The Myth of Eggs and Cholesterol That is, until the 1950s, when they came under attack because they're high in cholesterol. Around that time, cholesterol was blamed for causing heart disease. And we now know that's not true. Choleste...

Get Rid of Toxins to Reduce Risk of Stroke
Effects of Toxins I’ve been warning you about the toxins in our environment for years. They cause inflammation… They make you gain weight… They cause you to feel fatigued… Our exposure to them starts before we’re even born. One study found 287 chemicals and toxins in the blood of newborn babies.1 It’s shocking. What is in the air we breathe? We breathe in toxins and air pollutants every day. Carbon dioxide, lead, nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter (PM). Causes of Stroke Now, a new study reveals that air pollution is responsible for as many as one-third of all strokes.2 That’...

Anti-platelet activity of panaxatriol saponins is mediated by suppression of intracellular calcium mobilization and ERK2/p38 activation
Increased platelet aggregation is implicated in the pathogenesis of ischemic stroke and anti-platelet strategy may contribute to its therapy. Panaxatriol saponin (PTS), the main components extracted from Panax no...

Vitamin D Deficiency Is As Dangerous As Smoking
The advice you’re getting from your doctor, the TV and even the Surgeon General is so wrong, it’s scary. They’re all busy telling you to stay out of the sun. But Swedish researchers recently discovered that nonsmokers who avoid the sun have a life expectancy similar to smokers who spend a lot of time in the sun. Staying out of the sun is as dangerous as smoking.1 It doesn’t surprise me. I tell all my patients sunlight exposure is essential to our health because it is the best source of vitamin D… possibly the most important nutrient we know of. Mainstream medicine still doesn’t recognize th...
