Abbott and NIH Join Forces to Advance Neuroscience Research

Past Covidien, ev3 Activities are Costing Medtronic a Hefty Sum
Sometimes acquiring other companies means taking the bad with the good. In Medtronic's case, that means settling multiple Department of Justice claims against ev3, a business Medtronic owns by way of its Covidien acquisition. Covidien bought ev3 in 2010 and Medtronic finalized its $49.9 billion Covidien deal in early 2015. Is There an End in Sight for J & amp;J Divestitures?
Johnson & Johnson has received an offer for its sterilization unit. The New Brunswick, NJ-based company said Fortive is seeking to acquire the business for $2.7 billion. The sterilization business is part of the Ethicon division and earned about $775 million in sales in 2017. J&J has 120 days to accept the offer and if the deal goes through it could close no later than early 2019.
