Effects of cerebral small vessel disease on the outcome of patients with ischemic stroke caused by large artery atherosclerosis.
DISCUSSION: CSVD can significantly influence the clinical outcome of stroke in patients with cerebral infarction caused by LAA, and the methods to capture whole brain CSVD burden cross the spectrum of changes in CSVD imaging features may be useful for patient stratification in clinical trials. Frequency and risk factors of spontaneous hemorrhagic transformation following ischemic stroke on the initial brain CT or MRI: data from the China National Stroke Registry (CNSR).
DISCUSSION: Spontaneous HT occurred in 0.92% of the patients with IS in the acute stage. Being female, excess alcohol consumption, atrial fibrillation, and a prolonged period between IS onset and initial imaging were associated with an increased risk of spontaneous HT. Reversed ophthalmic artery flow following ischemic stroke: a possible predictor of outcomes following carotid artery stenting.
This study provides evidence that CAS is a valid and effective treatment option regardless of whether patients exhibited ROAF or not. Patients without ROAF were significantly more likely to have improved mid-term functional outcomes compared to those with ROAF. In the group without ROAF admission, CRP may play a role in predicting subsequent functional outcomes, whereas admission Barthel Index was a predictor of outcome in the ROAF group. Thrombolysis with rhPro-UK 3 to 6 hours after embolic stroke in rat.

Quantitative assessment and correlation analysis of cerebral microbleed distribution and leukoaraiosis in stroke outpatients.
DISCUSSION: Cerebral microbleed incidence increased with age. Mixed CMB type displayed the highest incidence. The severity and number of CMBs at any location correlated with LA severity. Internal maxillary artery to intracranial artery bypass: a case series of 31 patients with chronic internal carotid/middle cerebral arterial-sclerotic steno-occlusive disease.
CONCLUSIONS: By supplying an adequate flow to a larger flow territory of chronically stenotic/occlusive major cerebral arteries, IMA bypass surgery is efficient for restoring hemodynamics in selected patients and improving their neurological deficits.
