Matrix metallopeptidase 9 and placental growth factor may correlate with collateral status based on whole-brain perfusion combined with multiphase computed tomography angiography
DISCUSSION: Serum PGF and MMP-9 levels may correlate with collateral status based on MP-CTA in acute ischemic stroke patients with cerebral large artery atherosclerosis. Higher PGF and MMP-9 concentration associated with good collateral status.PMID:34107864 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1939238

Long noncoding RNA ANRIL knockdown attenuates neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke via suppressing the expression of NF- κB in vitro and in vivo
CONCLUSION: our results suggest that ANRIL knockdown attenuates neuroinflammation by suppressing the expression of NF-κB both in vitro and vivo model of IS, sugguesting that ANRIL might be a potentially viable therapeutictarget to diminish neuroinflammation in IS patients.PMID:34080525 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1934317

Effect of rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis on the prognosis of patients with minor ischemic stroke
Conclusion: Patients with MIS received intravenous thrombolysis may be associated with earlier neurological improvement, but might has no significant effect on long-term prognosis. The level of neutrophil ratio and CRP at admission are risk factors determining the prognosis, which requires further research.PMID:33847231 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1908672

Chlorpromazine and promethazine reduces Brain injury through RIP1-RIP3 regulated activation of NLRP3 inflammasome following ischemic stroke
Conclusion: These findings suggest that the anti-inflammatory effect of C + P may be dependent on drug-induced hypothermia and regulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome via the RIP1/RIP3 complex. Future investigations are needed regarding C + P as potential treatment of ischemic stroke.PMID:33829970 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1910904

Health-related quality of life after ischemic stroke: impact of sociodemographic and clinical factors
CONCLUSION: Stroke survivors have significantly reduced HR-QoL. Multiple interacting factors are associated with an unfavorable outcome after IS. Early detection of these factors would help to improve the care for IS patients, to reduce disabilities and improve HR-QoL.PMID:33637026 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1893563
