E-180 Perforator vessel embolization for galenic arteriovenous malformation as a safe and feasible therapy
ConclusionWe have found that ThP and AchA embolization are feasible and effective means for achieving cure of VOGM and tectal/thalamic AVM. We report favorable, post-procedural outcomes in the majority of our patients; however, as with any embolization within the thalamic region of the brain, we maintain that caution should always be used due to the risk of stroke which we observed in one of our patients. If there is any doubt as to the safety of a given embolization, provocative testing with neuromonitoring is performed. In the case of the patient who experienced a post-procedural stroke, neuromonitoring was performed and...

E-184 Transradial approach for pediatric diagnostic and neurointerventional surgery: single center case series and systematic review
ConclusionsOur results and the literature review demonstrate that the TRA is a safe and feasible option for pediatric patients. Routine use of ultrasound guidance, selection of appropriately sized catheters, and prophylactic use of vasodilators and antispasmodics can help ensure the success of the procedure and limit common access-site complications.Disclosures A. E-192 Association of myeloperoxidase-DNA complexes and high mobility group box 1 protein with delayed cerebral ischemia following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
High mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) serves as a key player in aseptic inflammation. Admission serum HMGB1 has been identified as a biomarker predictive of delayed cerebral ischemia following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). Released by leucocytes and platelets, HMGB1 induces neutrophils to release condensed chromatin and protein granules, termed neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). Myeloperoxidase (MPO)-DNA complexes are one major NET biomarker and have been associated with arterial and venous thrombosis formation. The prevalence and role of MPO-DNA in aSAH remains to be determined.A post-hoc analysis of ...

E-215 Single stent assisted coiling for wide neck bifurcation aneurysms: a multi-center core lab validated analysis demonstrating safety and efficacy
ConclusionThis study represents the first multi-center, core-lab validated data of the safety and efficacy of the L-stenting single stent technique for wide-neck bifurcation aneurysms. Further prospective studies in larger cohorts are necessary to compare the efficacy and safety of this treatment to other endovascular techniques for treatment of wide neck bifurcation aneurysms.Disclosures N. E-222 How far is too far in stroke thrombectomy? from xl to xs vessel occlusions with radially adjustable stent-retrievers - tigertriever xl and tigertriever 13
ConclusionMechanical thrombectomy for both primary or secondary DMVO seems feasible and as safe as for LVO. Our initial experience using the Tigertriever13 is of special interest as it shows we can potentially significantly expand AIS population that can benefit from mechanical thrombectomy treatment.Disclosures A. E-223 Atypical delayed mechanical thrombectomy for calcified cardiac emboli
ConclusionMechanical thrombectomy for intermittent stroke symptoms due to CCE was successfully achieved using an Embotrap device despite several days of relapsing-remitting symptoms with full neurologic recovery. Regardless of prior reports showing a low success rate, with the advent and availability of advanced thrombectomy devices, tailored endovascular treatment for patients with CCE to the brain should be strongly considered.Disclosures A. E-224 Bilateral external carotid artery sacrifice in massive refractory hemorrhage of the pharynx: a case report
This report suggests that bilateral ECA embolization may be safe in acute settings. In this report, the bleeding did not respond to conservative or surgical management and ECA embolization was used as a life-saving procedure in order to stop massive bleeding. Bilateral external carotid artery embolization is rarely employed because of the high risk of facial necrosis. Additionally, ECAs are also assumed to serve as potential blood reservoirs, particularly in the case of ICA occlusion where the ipsilateral ECA can significantly contribute to intracranial blood flow via collaterals. However, in this report, no complications ...

E-225 Mechanical thrombectomy for the treatment of basilar artery occlusion: factors associated with the delayed door to puncture time
ConclusionDTP of the patients who underwent MT for BAO was significantly longer than patients with ACLAO. The delayed activation of stroke code was associated with lack of cortical sings which are markers of ACLVO. Establishment of BAO screening in the ED assessment and prompt activation of Stroke code may contribute to the improvement of MT treatment for the BAO patients.Disclosures B. Nguyen: None. I. E-232 Video analysis of patient preparation in the angiography suite during emergent thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionsThis novel analysis of the patient preparation process during emergency thrombectomy identified several factors associated with overall angio-to-groin times, including the overall number of tasks performed, specific tasks such as patient examination, intubation, and vascular line placement, and the time to starting specifical tasks, such as puncture site preparation, urinary catheter placement, and patient draping. Importantly, door-to-angio times do not correlate with angio-to-groin times, suggesting that a focus on improving the efficiency of patient preparation in the angiography suite can help reduce overall...
