E-228 Single center experience using 3mm trevo stent retrievers in medium vessel occlusion thrombectomy
ConclusionUse of 3mm Trevo NXT stent retriever in medium vessel occlusion for first line and rescue thrombectomy in our single center experience demonstrated an adequate safety and efficacy profile, thus endorsing its use in mechanical thrombectomy applications beyond large vessel occlusion cases. Future multicenter studies will build upon this initial experience to further characterize the utility of novel stent retrievers in medium vessel occlusions.Disclosures C. Zhao: None. M. E-184 Transradial approach for pediatric diagnostic and neurointerventional surgery: single center case series and systematic review
ConclusionsOur results and the literature review demonstrate that the TRA is a safe and feasible option for pediatric patients. O-042 Incidence of periprocedural stroke with radial access for diagnostic cerebral angiograms
ConclusionIn our experience, transradial access for diagnostic cerebral angiograms was associated with a low but not neglectable incidence of periprocedural strokes when compared to the traditional femoral approach. Stroke remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States. Potential therapies have encountered significant barriers in attempts to translate bench to bedside research. Because of this, we have evaluated novel roles for FDA approved drugs, repurposed for treating stroke. Two such drugs, verapamil and magnesium, represent drug classes with a long history in neuroprotection trials with mixed results. The detrimental clinical impact of severe angiographic vasospasm may be diminished by maximal medical therapy and intensive endovascular treatment
Conclusions An intensive endovascular approach of TBA and/or intra-arterial verapamil in combination with induced hypertension for severe aVSP may result in comparable clinical outcomes to those without vasospasm.
