End of Study Transition From Study Drug to Open-Label Vitamin K Antagonist Therapy: The ROCKET AF Experience Original Articles
Conclusions— The excess of events at EOS was likely because of a period of inadequate anticoagulation in rivaroxaban participants switched to vitamin K antagonist therapy. If transition from rivaroxaban to vitamin K antagonist is needed, timely monitoring and careful dosing should be used to ensure consistent and adequate anticoagulation.

Abstract 242: Healthcare Resource Utilization and Costs among Patients with Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation using Dabigatran or Warfarin For Stroke Prevention Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusions: Although newly diagnosed, newly treated NVAF patients initiated on dabigatran had higher pharmacy costs than those on warfarin, the total healthcare costs were similar between the two cohorts. In addition, fewer office visits were observed in the dabigatran cohort.

Abstract 257: A Long-Term Comparison of Clinical and Economic Outcomes with Novel Oral Anti- Coagulants Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusions: While using NOACs in NVAF treatment raises drug costs compared to current practice, it also reduces stroke incidence. Among NOACs, apixaban does so at lower cost, with fewer bleeding events than either dabigatran or rivaroxaban.
