Short-term or long-term outcomes for stroke patients with cancer according to biological markers
Although hypercoagulability using D-dimer levels may be a useful marker for predicting outcomes in ischemic stroke patients with cancer, other biological markers for predicting outcomes are unclear. We aimed to investigate the associations between several biological markers and short-term or long-term outcomes among ischemic stroke patients with cancer.

Clean air for Brain Heath; ongoing agenda of 2018 World Brain Day
The latest estimate of attributable deaths to pollution worldwide is extraordinary: 9 million deaths annually [2]. Deaths are related to cardiovascular disorders (myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure and stroke), lung diseases and cancers. The recent Global Burden of Disease study, based on 1990 –2013 data from 188 countries demonstrated that air pollution contributes to 29.2% of the global burden of stroke. However the burden varies between 10% in high-income countries and 34% in low- and middle-income countries [3].

Differentiation of cancer from atrial fibrillation in patients with acute multifocal stroke
Objective.Acute multifocal embolic infarction (AMEI) is conventionally caused by etiologies such as cardioembolism due to atrial fibrillation (Af), but can also be caused by serious underlying diseases such as cancer. We characterized cancer-related AMEI and identified useful indicators for cancer-associated strokes.

N-type calcium channel antibody-mediated paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis: A diagnostic challenge
Conclusion: This case highlights limbic encephalitis as an atypical presentation of neuroendocrine cancer. It also illustrates how treatment of the underlying cancer can reverse limbic encephalitis and Lambert–Eaton myasthenic syndrome in a neuroendocrine carcinoma patient even before the paraneoplastic panel becomes negative.

Significance of acute multiple infarcts in multiple cerebral circulations on initial diffusion weighted imaging in stroke patients
Conclusions: AMIMCC are not rare and mostly need MRI to be detected. Multiple and various etiologies are implicated, including cardioembolic diseases in half of them, but also hematologic disorders and angeitis.

Intravenous Alteplase for acute ischemic stroke in patients with current malignant neoplasm
Conclusions: Our experience suggests that IV thrombolysis does not appear to increase the risk of hemorrhagic complications in current non-metastatic cancer patients in absence of additional risk factors of bleeding. In addition, these patients showed clinical improvement after IV thrombolysis, although replication of our findings in a randomized controlled trial is required to confirm our results.
