Survival and Differentiation of Transplanted Neural Stem Cells Derived from Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells in A Rat Stroke Model
Conclusions: To our knowledge, this is the first report of transplantation of NSCs derived from human iPSCs in a stroke model. Human iPSC-derived NSCs survived in the postischemic rat brain and appeared to differentiate, primarily into neurons. This cell transplantation approach for stroke appears to be feasible, but further optimization is needed.

Thrombolysis for Ischemic Stroke in Patients with Brain Tumors
Conclusions: In summary, very limited data exist about thrombolysis in patients with brain tumors. Differentiation of tumor by additional neuroimaging before thrombolysis in ischemic stroke is recommended as thrombolysis might be considered in extra-axial benign appearing neoplasms (eg, meningioma) but is not advisable in intra-axial primary or metastatic neoplasm. Further reporting of thrombolysis in patients with brain tumors is recommended.

Effective Mechanical Thrombectomy in a Patient with Hyperacute Ischemic Stroke Associated with Cardiac Myxoma
We describe a patient with hyperacute stroke caused by cardiac myxoma who had a good outcome with rapid recanalization through mechanical thrombectomy. A 46-year-old man was admitted with acute symptoms of right side hemiplegia and global aphasia. Brain computed tomography (CT) angiography showed a T occlusion of the left internal carotid artery. Recurrent Stroke Due to Metastatic Pulmonary Tumor Emboli as an Important Clinical Entity
We present an autopsy case of repetitive stroke due to tumor emboli, indistinguishable from thromboembolism with a hypercoagulable state in its clinical course. A 72-year-old man diagnosed with stage IVA oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma received chemoradiotherapy. Follow-up imaging revealed mediastinal lymph nodes and pulmonary metastasis. One year later, the patient experienced right arm weakness, and brain magnetic resonance imaging showed acute ischemic lesions in multiple vascular territories.

Lacunar Stroke, Cavernous Angioma, and Fusiform Aneurysm Due to Irradiation for Pilocytic Astrocytoma —A Case Report
We describe a rare case of a pediatric patient who presented multiple different types of vascular events consecutively in the irradiated field including lacunar stroke because of occlusion of perforating artery, intraventricular hemorrhage from cavernoma, and subarachnoid hemorrhage because of the rupture of fusiform aneurysm, 6 years after radiotherapy against pilocytic astrocytoma.

Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor Levels are Lower in Chronic Stroke Patients: A Relation with Manganese-dependent Superoxide Dismutase ALA16VAL Single Nucleotide Polymorphism through Tumor Necrosis Factor- α and Caspases Pathways
The manganese-dependent superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) Ala16Val single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) has shown to be associated to risk factors of vascular diseases. Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) plays an essential role in the plasticity and neuronal regeneration of the brain after vascular injuries. However, little is known about interaction between MnSOD Ala16Val SNP on stroke, a frequent neurologic disease that involves various interacting pathways, such as vascular dysfunctions, inflammation, and neurotrophic factors.

Successful Intra-arterial Thrombolysis in a Patient with an Intracranial Meningioma
We report a case of a 78-year-old man who was seen in our emergency department within 2 hours from sudden onset of aphasia, right-sided hemiplegia, hypoesthesia, and homonymous hemianopsia. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score at admission was 20. Intra-arterial thrombolysis was performed with administration of .3 mg/kg of alteplase combined with mechanical thrombectomy. At discharge, his NIHSS score was 1, and after 90 days, his modified Rankin score was 1. To our knowledge, this is the first report of intra-arterial thrombolysis in a patient with acute ischemic stroke with an intracranial tumor.

Intratumoral Hemorrhage in a Patient with Malignant Meningioma under Anticoagulant Therapy
We report the case of an elderly woman with malignant meningioma and atrial fibrillation who started taking anticoagulants after an ischemic stroke and subsequently developed intratumoral hemorrhage. Further studies are required to confirm whether a particular anticoagulant agent is suitable for patients with brain tumor and atrial fibrillation.

Calcified Cerebral Embolism Due to a Calcified Amorphous Tumor
A 59-year-old man developed brain embolism in the frontal and parietal cortex. Brain CT showed a high-density spot in the upper branch of the left middle cerebral artery, indicating calcified cerebral embolism. Calcified amorphous tumor attached to the mitral valve was identified as the cause of embolism. After surgical resection, anticoagulation was started and recurrent stroke did not occur.
