Atypical Presentation of Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: Incidence and Clinical Importance
The symptoms of sudden severe headache and/or diminished consciousness characterize the onset of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). However, several studies have suggested that some patients show an atypical presentation at the onset: symptoms lacking sudden headache and diminished consciousness. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence and clinical features of cases with atypical onset.

Acute Convexity Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Related to Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy: Clinicoradiological Features and Outcome
The specificities of acute convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage (cSAH) related to cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) and its evolution are not well known. We aimed to describe the clinicoradiological pattern, the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) evolution, and the risk of recurrent bleeding in such patients.

Postprandial Hypotension and Coma Following Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in a Patient with Parkinson's Disease
A 79-year-old woman with a history of Parkinson's disease was admitted to our hospital because of a subarachnoid hemorrhage. She underwent clipping the next day. On postoperative days 7-9, she exhibited hypotension and disturbance of consciousness after each meal. The administration of midodrine relieved the hypotension, and postprandial coma was no longer observed. In this case, the autonomic dysfunction in Parkinson's disease and impairment of cerebral autoregulation during cerebral vasospasm may have been involved in the postprandial hypotension (PPH) and coma.

Balloon-Occlusion Catheter Onyx Embolization of a Spinal Dural Arteriovenous Fistula Presenting with Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in a Pediatric Patient
In this report, we describe a spinal DAVF in a 3-year-old child whose initial presentation is subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Balloon-test occlusion and balloon–catheter-assisted embolization of DAVF have not been previously described, and their advantages over alternative embolic and surgical techniques are discussed.

Increased Resting Energy Expenditure after Endovascular Coiling for Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Appropriate nutritional care from the acute stage is essential for improved functional outcomes and reduced mortality in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Although endovascular coiling is increasingly being used as an alternative to neurosurgical clipping and craniotomy for ruptured aneurysms, the resting energy expenditure (REE) of patients treated with this new technique has not been systemically evaluated.

Association of Recreational Marijuana Use with Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Our objective was to evaluate the effect of cannabis use on hospitalizations for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH).

Puerperal Extracranial Vertebral Artery Dissection and Nonaneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Previously reported only a few times before, we present a case of extracranial vertebral dissection and spontaneous frontoparietal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in the puerperium, discussing possible mechanisms and difficulties in management. A 35-year-old woman presented 10 days postcaesarean section with neck pain and vertigo with normal initial investigations. Following recurrent vertigo, headache, and ataxia, imaging revealed a frontoparietal SAH and vertebral artery dissection. The patient was consequently treated with aspirin, and then following a return of symptoms 3 weeks later, warfarin therapy was continued for 6 months.

Spontaneous Subarachnoid Hemorrhage with Negative Angiography Managed in a Stroke Unit: Clinical and Prognostic Characteristics
Perimesencephalic subarachnoid hemorrhage (p-SAH) is linked to a benign prognosis compared with aneurysmal SAH. However, the outcome in nonperimesencephalic angiographically negative SAH (np-SAH) is not well established. We reviewed our experience and evaluated the clinical and prognostic differences between patients with p-SAH and np-SAH.

Cranioplasty and Duraplasty with Transcranial Color-Coded Duplex Sonography after Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Transcranial color-coded duplex sonography (TCCS) is a noninvasive technique for monitoring of cerebral vasospasm after neurosurgery for aneurismal subarachnoid hemorrhage. In this surgery, surgical materials are used. The goal of the study was to identify materials that can be used with ultrasound and to propose methods for cranioplasty and duraplasty using materials that permit TCCS.

Positive Fluid Balance Is Associated With Poor Outcomes in Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Strict maintenance of normovolemia is standard of care in the treatment of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH), and induced hypervolemia is often used to treat delayed cerebral ischemia from vasospasm. We tested the hypothesis that positive fluid balance could adversely affect clinical outcomes in aSAH.

Cardiac Troponin Elevation and Outcome after Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Cardiac abnormalities frequently occur after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Cardiac troponin (cTn) is a preferred biomarker for the diagnosis of cardiac damage, and the clinical significance of cTn elevation after SAH remains controversial. This meta-analysis was performed to assess the association between cTn elevation and patient outcomes, including delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI), poor outcome (death or dependency), and death in SAH patients.

Influence of Antiplatelet Drugs on the Outcome of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Differs with Age
The aim of this study was to examine the risk factor profiles and functional outcomes of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in different age groups, focusing on the effect of antiplatelet drugs when used before stroke.

Cerebral Vasospasm and Delayed Cerebral Ischemia after Warfarin-Induced Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) associated with anticoagulation is a rare event. About 30% of in-hospital patients with aneurysmal SAH develop delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI); however, the occurrence of vasospasm and DCI in patients with nonaneurysmal SAH is still controversial.

Cerebral Blood Flow after Acute Bypass with Parent Artery Trapping in Patients with Ruptured Supraclinoid Internal Carotid Artery Aneurysms
Bypass with parent artery trapping is an alternative treatment method for ruptured internal carotid artery (ICA) aneurysms when clipping or coiling is contraindicated. However, the efficacy and safety of this strategy during the acute stage of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is undetermined.
