Single-antiplatelet regimen in ruptured cerebral blood blister and dissecting aneurysms treated with flow-diverter stent reconstruction
Conclusions Peri-interventional single-antiplatelet therapy with eptifibatide followed by prasugrel was sufficient to prevent thromboembolic events and reduce re-bleeding using an anti-thrombogenic FDS. FDS with single-antiplatelet therapy might be a viable option for ruptured blood blister and dissecting cerebral aneurysms.

Relationship between cerebral vasospasm vascular territory and functional outcome after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
Conclusions In aneurysmal SAH, left-sided vasospasm is associated with worse discharge functional status. At 6 months, both ACA and BA vasospasm are associated with unfavorable functional status.

Bridging thrombolysis improves survival rates at 90 days compared with direct mechanical thrombectomy alone in acute ischemic stroke due to basilar artery occlusion: a systematic review and meta-analysis of 1096 patients
Conclusions In patients with AIS due to BAO, bridging IVT was associated with lower mortality rates at 90 days, compared with direct MT. There were no improved functional outcomes or increased sICH or SAH between both arms, However, patients with LAA benefited from bridging IVT, with better functional outcomes.

Functional effects of haemoglobin can be rescued by haptoglobin in an in vitro model of subarachnoid haemorrhage
Subarachnoid haemorrhage causes significant cognitive and functional disability in survivors, and one contributing factor is exposure of neurons to haemoglobin causing cell loss and dysfunction. In this in vitro subarachnoid haemorrhage model, haemolysate application to cultured neurons impairs cytoskeletal integrity. Furthermore, amplitude of AMPA receptor-mediated synaptic currents is reduced by haemolysate, driven by reduction in GluA1 expression. Prediction of stress-related gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage using caudate Hounsfield unit value in ASPECT score
ConclusionAmong aSAH patients, lower right caudate HU values indicated a higher risk of developing SRGB. Our findings provide further evidence for the relationship between the gastrointestinal system and the brain.

Case report: Fatal ischemic stroke induced by unruptured traumatic intracranial vertebral artery dissection
Intracranial vertebral artery dissection (IVAD) is rare and potentially fatal due to the risk of secondary subarachnoid hemorrhage once ruptured. Unruptured traumatic IVAD is even rarer and can result in ischemic stroke, yet mostly benign when timely diagnosed. Herein, we present an uncommon case of a patient who underwent a fatal ischemic stroke induced by unruptured traumatic IVAD. The patient was symptomatic soon after being physically assaulted but left untreated until acute deterioration for multiple brain infarctions occurred, secondary to IVAD-induced cerebellar stroke. A prospective cohort study on decreased serum apelin-13 levels after human aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: associations with severity and prognosis
AbstractApelin-13 may have neuroprotective effects. We aimed to determine whether serum apelin-13 could serve as a potential biomarker for severity, delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI), and prognosis after human aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). In this prospective, observational, cohort, single-center study of 139 patients with aSAH and 139 healthy individuals, serum apelin-13 levels were determined.
