Testing the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Neurological Fatigue Index-Stroke
CONCLUSIONS: The C-NFI-Stroke is a reliable and valid tool for clinical and research use on people who have been diagnosed with stroke for a year or more, although its factor structure differs from that of the original English version.PMID:33722084 | DOI:10.1177/02692155211001684

Hard return: the development and transformation process of social participation in stroke survivors; a qualitative study and initial theory.
CONCLUSION: This study has identified the development process of social participation in stroke survivors and "hard-return" suggests not only the tough process but also unsatisfactory results. Interventions targeted process ingredients seem to be potentially promising to improve stroke survivors' social function outcomes. PMID: 32375512 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The effect and optimal parameters of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on motor recovery in stroke patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
CONCLUSIONS:: rTMS promoted the recovery of limb motor function and changed the cortex excitability. rTMS may be better for early and pure subcortical stroke patients. Regarding different stimulation parameters, the number of stimulation sessions has an impact on the effect of rTMS. PMID: 30773896 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Efficacy and safety of transcranial direct current stimulation for post-stroke spasticity: A meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials
CONCLUSIONS: Low-quality evidence demonstrates that anodal transcranial direct current stimulation as an adjunct is effective and safe in reducing upper limb post-stroke spasticity when applied for more than 20 minutes in subacute and chronic stroke survivors aged under 60. Further high-quality studies are needed to explore its long-term efficacy and safety.PMID:34387103 | DOI:10.1177/02692155211038097

Functional activities and social participation after stroke in rural China: a qualitative study of barriers and facilitators.
CONCLUSION: Stroke survivors in rural China experienced environmental barriers mainly including physical barriers and complex regulations. The nuclear family's support is an important environmental facilitator. PMID: 28776407 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Effects of MOTOmed movement therapy on the mobility and activities of daily living of stroke patients with hemiplegia: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSION: MOTOmed movement therapy combined with standard rehabilitation improves mobility and activities of daily living in stroke patients with hemiplegia. PMID: 30088421 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Effects of the introduction of objective criteria for referral and discharge in physical therapy for ischemic stroke in China: a randomized controlled trial.
CONCLUSION: Introduction of a set of rules for referral and therapy input at different stages of rehabilitation partially improved patients' ADL and quality of life, but did not improve motor function. PMID: 31875687 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
