How is sexuality after stroke experienced by stroke survivors and partners of stroke survivors? A systematic review of qualitative studies.
CONCLUSION: Stroke has a profound impact on how sexuality is experienced by both stroke survivors and partners of stroke survivors. Despite this, post-stroke sexuality is rarely discussed openly. Stroke survivors and partners value sexuality and may benefit from strategies to support adjustment to post-stroke sexuality. PMID: 30180769 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Further validation of the Preference-Based Stroke Index three months after stroke.
CONCLUSION:: Preference-Based Stroke Index demonstrated significantly higher construct validity compared to the EuroQol-5D-3L at three months post stroke and can discriminate among known groups. PMID: 30834774 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The development and implementation of the structured training programme for caregivers of inpatients after stroke (TRACS) intervention: The London Stroke Carers Training Course.
CONCLUSION: The adapted London Stroke Carers Training Course provided a training programme that could be delivered in a standardised, structured way in a variety of stroke unit settings throughout the UK. The intervention was well received by stroke unit staff, however, the cascade method of implementation was not as effective as we would have wished. PMID: 25057000 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Early prediction of falls after stroke: a 12-month follow-up of 490 patients in The Fall Study of Gothenburg (FallsGOT).
CONCLUSION:: Poor postural control and using a walking aid in the acute phase after a stroke are associated with falls after discharge from a stroke unit within 12 months after stroke onset. PMID: 30569752 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Outcome measures in post-stroke arm rehabilitation trials: do existing measures capture outcomes that are important to stroke survivors, carers, and clinicians?
CONCLUSION:: Post-stroke arm rehabilitation research would benefit from a reduction in the number of outcome measures currently used, and better alignment between what is measured and what is important to stroke survivors, carers and clinicians. PMID: 30646750 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Practical guidance on use of TEARS-Q to diagnose post-stroke emotionalism
CONCLUSION: TEARS-Q reliably identifies those who need no further post-stroke emotionalism assessment, those who need further assessment to clarify diagnosis, and those who almost certainly have post-stroke emotionalism and may benefit from intervention.PMID:34134538 | DOI:10.1177/02692155211024801
