Cholesterol Efflux Capacity, HDL Particle Number, and Incident Cardiovascular Events. An Analysis from the JUPITER Trial (Justification for the Use of Statins in Prevention: An Intervention Trial Evaluating Rosuvastatin).
Conclusions -In JUPITER, cholesterol efflux capacity was associated with incident CVD in individuals on potent statin therapy but not at baseline. For both baseline and on-statin analyses, HDL particle number was the strongest of four HDL-related biomarkers as an inverse predictor of incident events and biomarker of residual risk. Risk of Stroke in Chronic Heart Failure Patients without Atrial Fibrillation: Analysis of the CORONA and GISSI-HF Trials.
CONCLUSIONS: -A small number of demographic and clinical variables identified a subset of HF patients without AF at high risk of stroke. PMID: 25810334 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

C-Reactive Protein, but not Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Levels, Associate with Coronary Atheroma Regression and Cardiovascular Events Following Maximally Intensive Statin Therapy.
CONCLUSIONS: Following 24 months of potent statin therapy, on-treatment CRP levels associated with MACE. Inflammation may be an important driver of residual cardiovascular risk in patients with coronary artery disease despite aggressive statin therapy.
