Guideline-Directed Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Management After Acute Ischemic Stroke: Findings from a National Health Care Service
Patients with ischemic stroke are at high risk for future cardiovascular events and should be treated intensively with lipid-modifying agents. Combination lipid-lowering therapies are often needed to achieve updated guideline-directed treatment goals. However, real-world data on intensification of lipid-lowering therapies and attainment of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets early after ischemic stroke are limited. We extracted data from the largest healthcare provider in Israel on patients hospitalized with acute ischemic stroke between January 2020 and February 2022.

Comparison of Stroke Risk Stratification Scores for Atrial Fibrillation
Several stroke risk stratification scores have been developed to guide clinical decision making in patients with non valvular atrial fibrillation (AF). The aim of this study was to compare the performance of the CHADS2, CHA2DS2-VASc and R2CHADS2 risk scores to predict stroke.This retrospective cohort study was based on electronic medical records from Clalit Health Services (CHS), the largest payer provider healthcare organization in Israel. Data of CHS members with AF diagnosis between 2004- 2015 were extracted.

We evaluated temporal trends in sex-related differences in patients undergoing trans-catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) for severe symptomatic aortic stenosis (AS) from a multicentre TAVI registry during the years 2008-2016. Our final cohort included 1,159 males and 1,370 females, with a median follow-up of 2.3 (IQR 1.2, 4.4) years.
