Comparative efficacy of 5 sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor and 7 glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists interventions on cardiorenal outcomes in type 2 diabetes patients: A network meta-analysis based on cardiovascular or renal outcome trials
Conclusions: This updated network meta-analysis reproduced the findings in the first network meta-analysis, and moreover revealed that sotagliflozin was one of the most effective drugs as for lowering MI, stroke, MACE, and HHF, whereas ertugliflozin was not. These findings will provide the according evidence regarding the usage of specific SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 RAs in T2D patients for prevention of specific cardiorenal endpoints.

Meningioma preceding CASPR2 antibody limbic encephalitis with a stroke mimic: A case report
We report a contactin-associated protein-like 2-antibody (CASPR2-Ab)-positive patient who presented with atypical LE. Diagnoses: CASPR2-Ab-positive LE was the presumed diagnosis. Re-evaluation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples revealed autoantibodies targeting CASPR2 at an immunoglobulin G titer of 1:1. The clinical presentation of subacute onset seizures, abnormal electroencephalography, hypermetabolism on positron emission tomography, good immunotherapy response, and the presence of specific antibodies in serum supports a diagnosis of autoimmune LE. Intervention: The patient received glucocorticoids (1â€...

Effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on cardiovascular and renal outcomes in type 2 diabetes: A meta-analysis with trial sequential analysis
Conclusions: Compared with placebo, SGLT2 inhibitors conclusively reduce the risk of MACE, CVD or HHF, ACD, CVD, HHF, and KFP in patients with type 2 diabetes, whereas the effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on MI and stroke are not conclusive and need to be further assessed in future studies with the adequate sample size to reject or accept the effect size.

Correlation among high salt intake, blood pressure variability, and target organ damage in patients with essential hypertension: Study protocol clinical trial (SPIRIT compliant)
This study is a cross-sectional study. It will recruit 600 patients with essential hypertension in the outpatient and inpatient department of cardiovascular medicine of Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital. Researchers will obtain blood and urine samples with the patient's informed consent. In addition, we will measure patient's blood pressure and target organ-related information. Trial registry: The study protocol was approved by the Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital. Written informed consent will be obtained from all the participants. The trial was registered in the Chinese Clinical trial registry, ChiCTR2000029243. This tri...

MELAS and macroangiopathy: A case report and literature review
We reported a case of MELAS that presented right distal internal carotid arterial (ICA) stenosis and reviewed 12 similar previously reported cases involving intracranial large blood vessels. Patient concerns: A 38-year-old man suffered from recurrent stroke-like episodes (SE) such as alternating hemiparesis (right lesion 3 years ago and current left lesion), cortical blindness and seizure for 3 years, and was previously misdiagnosed as cerebral infarction. Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) and Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) revealed right distal ICA stenosis and sparse cortex blood vessels, which were related ...
