Effectiveness of autogenic relaxation training in addition to usual physiotherapy on emotional state and functional independence of stroke survivors

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) in a patient with moyamoya disease: A case report
Conclusion:
This report suggests that patients with MMD may be susceptible to PRES. It highlights the importance of considering PRES as a differential diagnosis while providing care to MMD patients with concurrent acute neurological symptoms and a prompt intervention contributes to a favorable clinical prognosis.

Estimation of stroke severity with National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale grading and retinal features: A cross-sectional study
To estimate National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) grading of stroke patients with retinal characteristics.
A cross-sectional study was conducted in Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Baseline information and retinal photos were collected within 2 weeks of admission. An NIHSS score was measured for each patient by trained doctors. Patients were classified into 0 to 4 score group and 5 to 42 score group for analysis. Conclusion:
Morbidity models and nomograms incorporating clinical and surgical data can be used to predict operative risk for esophagectomy and provide appropriate resources for the postoperative management of high-risk patients.

Long-term cardiac remodeling associated with heart failure following left-ventricular valve replacement surgery: A retrospective study
To investigate long-term cardiac remodeling and prognosis of patients post-left-ventricular valve replacement, and explored related risk factors of heart failure and management strategies.
Retrospective cohort of patients with left-ventricular valve replacement between 2005 and 2007. The noninferiority of transcatheter aortic valve implantation compared to surgical aortic valve replacement for severe aortic disease: Evidence based on 16 randomized controlled trials
Conclusions:
Our analysis shows that TAVI was equal to sAVR in early, midterm and long term mortality for patients with severe aortic disease. In addition, TAVI may be favorable in reducing the incidence of both early, midterm and long term NOAF. However, pooled results showed superiority of sAVR in reducing permanent pacemaker implantation, neurological events, TIA, major vascular complications and reintervention.

Comparison of postprocedural new-onset atrial fibrillation between transcatheter and surgical aortic valve replacement: A systematic review and meta-analysis based on 16 randomized controlled trials
Conclusions:
Our analysis showed that TAVR was superior to SAVR in decreasing the both short and long term postprocedural NOAF. TAVR was equal to SAVR in early, midterm and long term mortality. In addition, TAVR showed lower incidence of 30-day/in-hospital MI and cardiogenic shock after procedure. However, pooled results showed that TAVR was inferior to SAVR in reducing permanent pacemaker implantation, neurological events, TIA, major vascular complications, and re-intervention.

Cystatin C predicts the risk of incident cerebrovascular disease in the elderly: A meta-analysis on survival date studies
Conclusion:
Increased serum Cys C is significantly associated with future stroke events in the elderly, especially in patients with carotid atherosclerosis. Thus, serum levels of Cys C could serve as a predicted biomarker for stroke attack.

Efficacy of virtual reality therapy in ideomotor apraxia rehabilitation: A case report
We report the possible therapeutic efficacy of immersive virtual reality (VR) rehabilitation for the treatment of ideomotor apraxia in a patient with stroke.

A 56-year-old man with sudden weakness of his left side caused by right frontal, parietal, and corpus callosal infarction was transferred to rehabilitation medicine center for intensive rehabilitation. Treatments of unruptured brain arteriovenous malformations: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions:
We found that microsurgery might provide lasting clinical benefits in some unruptured bAVMs patients for its high obliteration rates and low hemorrhage. These findings are helpful to provide a reference basis for neurosurgeons to choose the treatment of patients with unruptured bAVMs.
