IJERPH, Vol. 15, Pages 927: In Hospital Stroke Mortality: Rates and Determinants in Southwestern Saudi Arabia
Conclusions: In Southwestern Saudi Arabia, the in-hospital stroke mortality rate is higher in men and increases with aging. The prognosis of acute stroke could be improved by smoking cessation, better control of hypertension and prevention of in hospital complication particularly pulmonary embolism.

Practice Variations in the Use of Novel Oral Anticoagulants for Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation-Related Stroke among Stroke Neurologists in Saudi Arabia.
In conclusion, the practice of stroke neurologists is consistent with and supports the available evidence from observational studies on the time of initiation of NOACs. Our findings provide a guide for clinicians who manage nvAF-related stroke until more robust evidence from randomized controlled trials is available.

Therapeutic Dilemma of Wake-up Stroke: Clinical and Brain Imaging Characteristics and Reperfusion as a Treatment Option
Conclusions: Only minor dissimilarities between clinical and radiologic features of WUS and clear-onset stroke were found. Circadian patterns of stroke onset were observed in both groups. Stroke was more likely to occur during waking than during sleep, and a diurnal pattern of common occurrence during the morning was documented. Recognition of the acceptable timeframe for acute reperfusion therapy in unwitnessed strokes is crucial so that thrombolytic treatment can be started for these patients.PMID:36441986 | DOI:10.4088/PCC.21m03216

The CHA2DS2-VASc score and the risk of ischemic stroke in community-dwelling individuals with and without atrial fibrillation: The Atherosclerosis Risk In Communities (ARIC) study
Conclusion The risk of ischemic stroke is low across CHA2DS2-VASc score categories in community-dwelling individuals without AF. Individuals with AF are at high risk for ischemic stroke even with low CHA2DS2-VASc score, suggesting the need for stroke prevention in individuals with AF and one CHA2DS2-VASc stroke risk factor.

Knowledge and Attitudes of Saudi Emergency Physicians toward t-PA Use in Stroke.
Conclusion: Our study detected inadequate knowledge and a negative attitude among Saudi emergency physicians toward t-PA use in acute stroke. This might negatively impact patient outcome. Therefore, we recommend developing urgent strategies to improve emergency physicians' knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs in the management of acute stroke.
