Management of Anticoagulation in Cancer Patients with Atrial Fibrillation
Isr Med Assoc J. 2022 Mar;24(3):183-185.ABSTRACTAtrial fibrillation is becoming an increasingly important problem in cardio-oncology. Specific risk factors for atrial fibrillation occurrence include type of cancer disease and anticancer drugs. Anticoagulation is often abandoned. The CHA2DS2-VASc and CHA2DS2 scores may be important not only in predicting stroke but also in mortality. The role of new direct oral anticoagulants is growing, but they need to be used in a personalized approach depending on the risk of unbeneficial interactions with cancer treatment and the risk of bleeding.PMID:35347933

Systolic Time Intervals for Diagnosis of Severe Aortic Stenosis
CONCLUSIONS: Acceleration time and AT/ET ratio are reliable measurements for identifying patients with severe AS. Furthermore, AT and AT/ET were able to predict aortic valve replacement or death.PMID:35347925

Lean six sigma and stroke in rural hospital – The case of Baruch Padeh Medical Center
Batsheva Tzadok, Oran Ben Tov, Vladimir Vaispapir, Lev Shornikov, Olga Marik, Leon Martens, Eran Tal Or International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance, Vol. 35, No. 1, pp.21-37 This case study aims to demonstrate the strengths of the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology to improve the acute ischemic stroke (AIS) treatment rates and reduce process lead time at Baruch Padeh Medical Center (BPMC), a rural hospital in the Galilee region of Northern Israel. The LSS project redefined the BPMC stroke care pathway and increased its efficacy. The LSS methodology was implemented in September 2017 by integrating lean principles a...

The health status: the ignored risk factor in dementia incidence. NEDICES cohort
CONCLUSIONS: Our data indicate that it is worthwhile to include the SPH status as a RF in the studies of dementia and AD incidence and to explore the effect of its improvement in the evolution of this incidence.PMID:35025095 | DOI:10.1007/s40520-021-02045-0
