Plant-based diets and incident cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality in African Americans: A cohort study
ConclusionsIn this study of black Americans, we observed that, unlike in prior studies, greater adherence to a plant-based diet was not associated with CVD or all-cause mortality.

Constrictor responses of cerebral resistance arterioles in male and female rats exposed to prenatal alcohol
Our goal was to examine constrictor responses of cerebral arterioles in rats exposed to prenatal alcohol. We found that constrictor responses were preserved in adolescent and adult rats that were exposed to prenatal alcohol. We suggest that impaired dilation, with preservation of constriction, may favor a scenario leading to cerebral ischemia, and perhaps stroke. Moderate alcohol consumption and carotid intima-media thickness in type 2 diabetes
CONCLUSIONS: Moderate alcohol consumption has a protective effect on atherosclerosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, requiring consideration to dietary intake and physical activity, among other influences.
