High-resolution scanning electron microscopy for the analysis of three-dimensional ultrastructure of clots in acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions 3D-SEM provides novel and potentially clinically relevant information on clot components and ultrastructure which may help to inform thrombolytic treatment and medical device design.

Drip-and-Ship Thrombolytic Therapy Supported by the Telestroke System for Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients Living in Medically Under-served Areas.
Authors: Kageji T, Obata F, Oka H, Kanematsu Y, Tabata R, Tani K, Bando H, Nagahiro S Abstract There are a few stroke specialists in medically under-served areas in Japan. Consequently, in remote area patients may not receive thrombolysis with intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (iv rt-PA), the standard treatment for acute ischemic stroke. Using a mobile telestroke support system (TSS) that accesses the internet via a smart phone, we implemented iv rt-PA infusion therapy under a drip-and-ship protocol to treat the stroke patients in medically under-served areas. The physicians at the Tokushima Pref...

E-054 Correlation between Thrombus Density and Recanalization or Stroke Etiology in Acute Ischemic Stroke
ConclusionIn conclusion, our study found no relationship between thrombus attenuation and recanalization success or stroke etiology. While prior studies have suggested that higher attenuation is associated with good recanalization, our study could not find such a link.4 More studies are required to identify factors that predict successful recanalization in acute ischemic stroke patients.DisclosuresM. 64-detector CT angiography within 24 hours after carotid endarterectomy and correlation with postoperative stroke.
CONCLUSIONS CTA within 24 hours of CEA demonstrates characteristic anatomical findings. CCA step-offs and ECA flaps are relatively common and clinically insignificant, whereas ICA/CCA flaps and thrombi are less frequently seen and are associated with postoperative stroke/TIA. 2-1-2 stroke microsurgical thrombectomy technique as a tertiary/salvage treatment option
CONCLUSIONS: 2-1-2 MST technique can be rapidly and efficaciously performed in a systemized manner offering a tertiary or salvage technique for acute stroke treatment. Specific microsurgical training is mandatory to accomplish this treatment and larger studies are necessary to confirm our hypothesis.PMID:35147401 | DOI:10.23736/S0390-5616.21.05480-1
