E-033 Optimization of endovascular treatment for patients with acute carotid plaque rupture and free- floating thrombus by use of two overlapping closed-cell stents with different radial force
ConclusionUse of the Carotid Wallstent as the first stent to secure the free-floating thrombus allows save delivery of the Xact stent which then adds a second closed-cell mesh layer as well as the needed radial force to expand the stent construct. This approach may decrease if not eliminate the need for post-stent angioplasty in the acute setting thus decreasing risk of thromboembolic complication.Disclosures A. Kuhn: None. J. Singh: None. S. E-055 Internal carotid artery reconstruction with flow diverting stents in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: technical considerations and medical management
ConclusionsFDS appear to be a safe and effective tool for reconstruction of a symptomatic dissection in tortuous cervical ICAs. Their flexibility allows conformation to complex anatomies and they can be traversed multiple times by aspiration catheters/stentrievers. We found excellent patency at follow up. The unique challenges posed by utilization of high-profile stents in acute stroke require appropriate technical execution and medical management.Disclosures E. Orru: None. F. Bounni: None. M. E-157 Emergent intracranial stenting for symptomatic basilar artery and intradural vertebral artery stenosis
ConclusionEmergent intracranial stenting for symptomatic stenoses in the posterior circulation is feasible and safe when compared to the natural history of the disease.Disclosures A. Kuhn: None. J. E-067 Endovascular Approach in the Repair of the Middle Cerebral Artery Aneurysm Including Those with Wide Neck and Complex in Morphology-A Case Series
ConclusionsEndovascular repair of the MCA aneurysm inclosing those with wide neck and complex are not only safe and feasible, but associated with high long-term functional outcome. Therefore, endovascular options must be offered to patients prior to surgical clipping of a MCA aneurysm. Further study may be warranted.DisclosuresY. Lodi: None. V. Reddy: None.
