Antiplatelet therapy for standalone coiling of ruptured intracranial aneurysms: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions Although this study showed no beneficial effect of AT on clinical outcomes, the results suggest that AT could be combined with standalone coiling to avoid thromboembolism during the perioperative period. A large prospective study and/or an additional meta-analysis would be required to further investigate how AT benefits standalone coil embolization in aSAH.

ConclusionActive monitoring and adjustment antiplatelet agents did not reduce ischemic complications in endovascular treatment; however, tended to reduce the ischemic complication, especially in flow diversion. Neurosurgery in times of a pandemic: a survey of neurosurgical services during the COVID-19 outbreak in the Veneto region in Italy.
CONCLUSIONS: This multicenter study describes the effects of a COVID-19 outbreak on neurosurgical activities in a vast region in Italy. Remodulation of neurosurgical activities has resulted in a significant reduction of elective and emergency surgeries compared to previous years. Most likely this is a combined result of cancellation of elective and postponable surgeries, increase of conservative management, increase in social restrictions, and in patients' fear of accessing hospitals. Endovascular management of extracranial occlusions at the hyperacute phase of stroke with tandem occlusions
ConclusionsCervical occlusion with coils and thrombectomy with stent-retrievers may be relevant to prevent early embolic recurrence in cervical occlusions with intraluminal thrombus. Stent-retrievers should be further assessed as a first-line approach, since delayed stroke may occur following occlusion with coils. Medical treatment alone may be sufficient when no cervical intraluminal thrombus is present, the Willis polygon is effective, and the cervical occlusion can be crossed easily to perform the intracranial thrombectomy.
