Casper vs. Closed-Cell Stent
ConclusionThe Casper stents did not show superiority in the rate of incidence, number and size of new silent ischemic brain lesions detect by DW-MRI when compared to close cell stents during CAS under distal EPD.

Imaging diagnosis of intracranial atherosclerosis stenosis-related large vessel occlusion before and during endovascular therapy
We describe the diagnosis of intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis-related large vessel occlusion from the perspectives of "thrombus imaging," "perfusion," and "occlusion margin."PMID:37416315 | PMC:PMC10320000 | DOI:10.3389/fneur.2023.1168004

The alternative complement pathway is longitudinally associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes. The CODAM study.
Abstract The alternative pathway of complement activation is highly reactive and can be activated spontaneously in the vasculature. Activation may contribute to vascular damage and development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). We aimed to investigate functional components of the alternative pathway in cardiovascular risk. We studied 573 individuals who were followed-up for seven years. At baseline, we measured the enhancer properdin; the rate-limiting protease factor D (FD); and a marker of systemic activation, Bb. Using generalised estimating equations, we investigated their longitudinal associations with cardiova...

O-052 The pennsylvania post-market multicenter experience with flow re-direction endoluminal device (FRED)
ConclusionThe results of the early post-market experience with the FRED device show reasonable safety and adequate aneurysmal occlusion rates comparable to other flow diverters. However, more extensive multicenter studies with more extended follow-up data are needed to assess the long-term safety and durability of the device.Abstract O-052 Table 1Baseline descriptive statistics Number of patients n=61 Gender Male 11 (18%) Female 50 (82%) Age (Years: median; IQR) 58 (51 – 68) Multiple Intracranial Aneurysms 21 (34.4%) Family history of aneurysms 9 (14.8%) Smoking History Never smokers 26 (42.6%) Past smokers 13 (21.3...

E-187 Pipeline embolization stent for treatment of giant supraclinoid aneurysms: a case series
ConclusionThe Pipeline embolization device is a novel technique that can be utilized for treatment of giant cerebrovascular aneurysms with emerging evidence of immediate and long-term success. Further patient enrollment and clinical trials will be required to assess its efficacy in comparison to other endovascular and surgical approaches for the treatment of giant aneurysms.Disclosures M. E-033 Optimization of endovascular treatment for patients with acute carotid plaque rupture and free- floating thrombus by use of two overlapping closed-cell stents with different radial force
ConclusionUse of the Carotid Wallstent as the first stent to secure the free-floating thrombus allows save delivery of the Xact stent which then adds a second closed-cell mesh layer as well as the needed radial force to expand the stent construct. This approach may decrease if not eliminate the need for post-stent angioplasty in the acute setting thus decreasing risk of thromboembolic complication.Disclosures A. Kuhn: None. J. Singh: None. S.
