E-033 Optimization of endovascular treatment for patients with acute carotid plaque rupture and free- floating thrombus by use of two overlapping closed-cell stents with different radial force
ConclusionUse of the Carotid Wallstent as the first stent to secure the free-floating thrombus allows save delivery of the Xact stent which then adds a second closed-cell mesh layer as well as the needed radial force to expand the stent construct. E-055 Internal carotid artery reconstruction with flow diverting stents in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: technical considerations and medical management
ConclusionsFDS appear to be a safe and effective tool for reconstruction of a symptomatic dissection in tortuous cervical ICAs. Their flexibility allows conformation to complex anatomies and they can be traversed multiple times by aspiration catheters/stentrievers. We found excellent patency at follow up. Comparison between the Outcomes of Intracoronary and Intravenous Administration of Eptifibatide during Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with Acute ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction.
CONCLUSIONS: IC administration of eptifibatide during PPCI in patients with STEMI in comparison with IV administration of eptifibatide is associated with significantly better coronary reperfusion and improved clinical outcomes (IRCT2012090510751N1). Abstract 245: Cost Effectiveness and Safety of Abbreviated Eptifibatide Infusion in Veterans Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusion: In this real world cohort of patients undergoing PCI, an abbreviated 2 hour eptifibatide infusion after PCI was safe and had a cost savings of greater than 50% per patient, when compared with a standard 18 hour infusion. This approach is more cost-effective and should be considered in patients undergoing PCI who are not pretreated with dual antiplatelet therapy.
