A rare cause of abdominal pain managed unconventionally: acute renal infarction caused by atrial fibrillation: a case report
ConclusionsAcute renal infarction from thromboembolism is a rare but serious complication of arterial fibrillation. More efficient and different options for intervention methods will benefit the treatment of this disease. Here, we report a combination therapeutic method that has not been used in acute renal infarction associated with arterial fibrillation, and which restored renal perfusion and prevented long-term kidney injury.

E-114 Rescue suction mechanical thrombectomy of medium-small vessel occlusion in a pediatric patient presented with acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionEndovascular aspiration mechanical thrombectomy of MSVO is feasible in pediatric patients presenting with AIS and associated with good functional outcome. Additionally, when acute ongoing neurological deficit is present and CTA is inconclusive, a digital subtraction angiography is deemed needed to identify MSVO as the yields of CTA diminishes significantly beyond LVO. The acute management of haemorrhage, surgery and overdose in patients receiving dabigatran
Dabigatran is an oral direct thrombin inhibitor (DTI) licensed for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation and likely to be soon approved in Europe for treatment of venous thrombosis. Predictable pharmacokinetics and a reduced risk of intracranial haemorrhage do not negate the potential risk of haemorrhage. Unlike warfarin, there is no reversal agent and measurement of the anticoagulant effect is not ‘routine’.
