The effect of nicorandil on cardiac function and clinical outcomes in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention: a randomised trial
CONCLUSIONS: Treatment with nicorandil for 6 months after primary PCI was not associated with any improvement in infarct size, CMR-determined cardiac function, and outcomes in STEMI patients.PMID:36942830 | DOI:10.1080/00015385.2022.2129592

A Non-Linear Role of Hyperlipidemia on Progression of Intracranial Atherosclerotic Plaques and Acute Downstream Ischemic Events
CONCLUSIONS: LDL was related with ischemia events in intermediate stage of intracranial atherosclerotic plaque progression, an excellent period for intensive lipid-lowering treatment. In advanced stage, inflammatory agents maybe the main contributor to ischemic events.PMID:36709996 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63971

High Mean Platelet Volume Is Associated with Cerebral White Matter Hyperintensities in Non-Stroke Individuals
CONCLUSION: We found that high MPV level is independently associated with cerebral WMH. This result suggests that platelet activation plays a role in the development of cerebral WMH.PMID:36579377 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2022.0368

Relationship between Serum Irisin Levels and MRI-Measured Cerebral Small Vessel Disease in Japanese Men
CONCLUSIONS: Serum irisin levels were associated with less burden of total CSVD in healthy Japanese men. Serum irisin levels were also related with a reduced risk of PVHs, LIs, and CMBs, but not DSWMHs.PMID:36384910 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63824
