Timing and nature of in-house postoperative events following uncomplicated elective endovascular aneurysm treatment.
Conclusions The large majority of significant postprocedural events after uncomplicated endovascular aneurysm intervention occur within the first 4 hours; these events become less frequent with increasing time. Transfer to a floor bed after 4-12 hours for further observation is reasonable to consider in some patients. PMID: 25170666 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusion Due to its superior in-plane resolution, OCT clearly visualised the distinction between the vessel wall and the FD stent struts. Nevertheless, our example showed that VasoCT enables identification of apposition distances in the order of 0.5mm. Although OCT is clinically used in interventional cardiology, its neurovascular application is currently limited to the experimental setting. Use of Anti-platelet Agents after Traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage
Anti-platelet therapies (APTs) are frequently utilized medications, and are commonly indicated in patients with traumatic intracranial hemorrhage (tICH). Although venous thromboembolism prophylaxis after tICH has been studied, no data exist to guide clinicians on when it is safe to initiate APTs [1]. Indications for APTs include ischemic stroke prevention after blunt cerebrovascular injury (BCVI), acute myocardial infarction treatment, and secondary prevention of heart attack and stroke [2–6].

ConclusionUnder the trial definition, any apparent extravascular blood in the brain or cranium with an increase of 4 or more on the NIHSS, associated or not, is considered a sICH; as a result, the inclusion of hemorrhagic infarctions (HI1 and HI2) in this definition resulted in an apparent relative increase in sICH rates. Subjecting the THERAPY cohort to other definitions yielded notable variance in complication rates.
