Risk Factors and Manageability of the Mainly Mild Mucocutaneous Bleeding Profile Observed in Attp Patients Treated with Caplacizumab during the Phase III Hercules Study
Conclusions: The safety profile of caplacizumab was favorable. In line with its pharmacology, treatment with caplacizumab was associated with an increased risk of mucocutaneous bleeding. These events were generally mild to moderate, and the majority did not require therapeutic intervention. Replacing PT-INR Monitoring of Warfarin with Fiix-NR in Clinical Practice Reduces Thromboembolism without Increasing Bleeding Despite Reduced Number of Dose Adjustments
Conclusions: These results are in agreement with the results of the Fiix-trial and show that ignoring factor VII during VKA monitoring is safe and leads to reduction in thromboembolism without increasing bleeding. Acute Neurotoxicity during ALL Therapy Is Associated with Treatment Intensity, Age and Female Sex - an Analysis of SAE Reports from the UKALL 2003 Trial
Discussion:This large study identifies treatment intensity as the main risk factor for developing acute neurotoxicity with female sex, age and CNS status having a significant modifying effect. CNS status may reflect increased intrathecal therapy given to non-CNS-1 patients. Coagulation Profile of Sickle Cell Patients with Leg Ulcers
CONCLUSIONSIn SCD patients with leg ulcers, PC and PS levels are significantly lower than in SCD patients without leg ulcers. Additionally, in SCD patients with leg ulcers, there is a trend towards decreased levels of AT III and increased LA positivity. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in the U.S. Hemophilia Population: A Cohort Study
Conclusions: In this interim analysis of an ongoing national prospective cohort study, older men with moderate to severe hemophilia commonly report risk factors for CKD, including HTN (51.5%), DM, viral infection, and potential renal damaging medication use. Only 11.6% had CVD. Benefits and Limitations of Long-Term Eculizumab Treatment for Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH): Real-World Data from Large Cohort Study in Russia
Conclusions: The results of the study show both the high efficacy and limitations of treatment with eculizumab for PNH in real-world practice. Prospectively confirmed significant improvement of the overall survival on eculizumab stress the need for faster and wider access to costly therapy.
