AbstractTo review the literature for randomized control trials (RCTs) and prospective cohort studies investigating the safety and efficacy of tirofiban and eptifibatide in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane library were searched for available papers published up to September 2021. Safety and Efficacy of Pharmaco-invasive Approach Using Streptokinase Compared With Primary Percutaneous Coronary Angiography
Conclusion: Utilizing streptokinase in early re-perfused patients by PI approach (≤3 hrs) seems safe and efficient when PPCI delay (>120 min from symptom onset) is the other option.

Ischemic Stroke After Treatment of Intraprocedural Thrombosis During Stent-Assisted Coiling and Flow Diversion Brief Report
Conclusions—Current protocols for treatment of intraprocedural thrombosis associated with placement of intra-arterial devices were effective in preventing ischemic stroke in ≈80% of cases. Current smoking was the only independent predictor of ischemic stroke.

ConclusionsEndovascular repair of the MCA aneurysm inclosing those with wide neck and complex are not only safe and feasible, but associated with high long-term functional outcome. Abstract 245: Cost Effectiveness and Safety of Abbreviated Eptifibatide Infusion in Veterans Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusion: In this real world cohort of patients undergoing PCI, an abbreviated 2 hour eptifibatide infusion after PCI was safe and had a cost savings of greater than 50% per patient, when compared with a standard 18 hour infusion. This approach is more cost-effective and should be considered in patients undergoing PCI who are not pretreated with dual antiplatelet therapy.

Rescue Treatment of Thromboembolic Complications during Endovascular Treatment of Cerebral Aneurysms: A Meta-Analysis FELLOWS' JOURNAL CLUB
CONCLUSIONS: Rescue therapy with thrombolytic agents resulted in significantly more morbidity than rescue therapy with glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors. Tirofiban/eptifibatide resulted in significantly higher recanalization rates compared with abciximab.
