Middle cerebral artery infarction in a cancer patient: a fatal case of Trousseau's syndrome.
This report describes a young, previously healthy man diagnosed to have an acute middle cerebral arterial ischaemic stroke and lower-limb deep vein thrombosis, who subsequently succumbed to pulmonary arterial embolism. During the course of his illness, he was diagnosed to have a malignant pleural effusion secondary to an occult adenocarcinoma. Cost-Effectiveness of Edoxaban In Patients With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation In Hong Kong
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia associated with debilitating consequences such as stroke, heart failure and venous thromboembolism. In HK, 20-25% of stroke cases are related to AF leading to a significant burden. Warfarin has been the frontline oral anticoagulant for AF but with high bleeding risk and hence monitoring and dose adjustment are required. The non-vitamin-K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) are alternatives to warfarin for preventing stroke and systemic embolism in non-valvular AF (NVAF) patients.

Duplex sonography for detection of deep vein thrombosis of upper extremities: a 13-year experience.
CONCLUSIONS. Upper-extremity deep vein thrombosis is uncommon among symptomatic Chinese population. The most common sign is swelling and the major risk factor for upper-extremity deep vein thrombosis identified in this study is malignancy. PMID: 25722467 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Unicompartmental knee replacement – An underrated alternative of total knee replacement: A matched comparative study analysing their benefits and risks in local population
Conclusion Because of less operative risk and faster rehabilitation, this study suggested that unicompartmental knee replacement is more cost effective and might be a better choice for patients with unicompartmental arthritis in local population.
