Extent of mural thrombus is not associated with increased 5-year mortality following elective AAA repair
CONCLUSIONS: In our experience, the extent of mural thrombus in AAA does not influence long-term survival after elective repair. AAA repair may provide protection against circulating components of mural thrombus which have the potential to promote atherosclerotic-related adverse events. ConclusionsGenetically predicted increase in Vit-D status [25(OH)D] may confer secondary protection against incident combined CVD events and myocardial infarction in a hypertensive-diabetic population where serological 25(OH)D deficiency is common, through facilitating blood pressure control.

Association of Iso-Osmolar vs Low-Osmolar Contrast Media With Major Adverse Renal or Cardiovascular Events in Patients at High Risk for Acute Kidney Injury Undergoing Endovascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
CONCLUSIONS: Use of IOCM vs LOCM in patients at high risk of AKI undergoing EVAR procedures was associated with a lower risk of MARCE. As prevention of AKI or cardiovascular events after EVAR procedures may lead to reduced morbidity and mortality, this finding may have important clinical implications and should be confirmed through randomized controlled clinical studies.PMID:34280892
